We had longed for this trip since last year. The car felt like a F1 and after a short stop in Gothenborg to collect our tent we arrived the harbour in Moss to catch the ferry to Horten. This is normally a very good way to cross the sea but we were not lucky this time. The Norwegian cue system wasn't logic at all so we missed two ferrys. Anyway, at 22 pm we stood on the other side and continued our journey down to Langesund were we camped for the night. Thursday 1/6 We woke up very early this morning at 4 am by another swede who was going to work but his Volvo wouldn't start. The sound of the start engine to a Volvo 240 gives you bad vibes. Terrible! What he said is not printable on this site. The breakfast tasted well and we started towards Kristiansand. In Kristiansand we noticed that the Norwegians also had a holy day. That wasn't good for us we'd hoped to do some shopping. It was nothing to do so we drove on along the road and counted all the tunnels we passed. I can't remember how many we saw but it must have been over twenty. A couple of miles south of Stavanger we turned right and short after we reach Lauvvik with it's car ferry. This is a short boat trip which will take us to Oanes and it took about 30 minutes. On the right side of the fiord we had to drive a bit further to get to Preikestolshytta. In the hut we had lunch and prepared our day trip. We noticed that the wind forces increased. The path signs were perfect to follow and they had made a nice path the whole way up. The nature up here was very nice with naked cliffs. Preikestolen is probably one of Norwegians most popular tourist attraction with about 70000 visitors every year. After 90 minutes of walking we reached the cliff. But it was very windy, nearly orcane, in this open terrain so didn't crawled the entire way out to the cliff edge. There were no other people out at this time. We took some pictures and all of a sudden Bert's cap just flew away up the hillside. When the night came closer we decided to walk down from the cliff and to put up the tent. On the way up we recogniced a place so it was no problem. At the same moment we started to the raise the tent it began to rain really bad. In the tent we had some good tasting meals and listened to the rain falling down. We had no problem at all to fall in sleep at the hard rock face.
