Krossbu - Storebjørn

Route info

Description

A glacier adventure which demand equipment and knowledge. Begin the hike from Krossbu and walk up to Leirbreen which is situated about 2-3 kilometers to the east. Put on the glacier equipment and take out the compass.

Walk then to Björnskarvet about 3-4 kilometers away. During the hike you can see Smörstabbtind, Kniven and Saksa to the left and Kalven to the right. Then more steeper hills are waiting for you before you get to the peak at 2222 metres a.s. When the sun is shining you can't complain about the views.

When you are going back you can take left down to Smörstabbreen just below the peak. Then follow the glacier until you reach the real ground again. On nice paths you walk home to Krossbu for a shower and some food.
