2004-07-26 - Visbretinden
This morning could not start better. We faced Stetind in sunshine when we crawled out of the tent. A quick breakfast later we stood at the car park again. Today’s target was Visbretinden and eventually Kyrkja. We had walked the first part for some years ago so we could keep a good speed. We passed Kyrkja and continued towards Kyrkjeoksle, a rather easy ridge. Short after we had to go downhill again before we could climb up to Langvasshöe (2030 m). It was a steep hill with lot of stones. Up there we took a break and enjoyed the views.

Now we saw Visbretinden and started the last climb towards the summit. The terrain was really stony as always. We met a Norwegian couple on the summit. Now it was time for lunch, goulash soup with bread. The view was impressive and we could see a lot of the peaks in the Jotunheimen area. After a while we had to hurry to catch up with the Norwegians. We tried to make smart route choices and managed to reach Kyrkja half an hour before them. They were pissed and impressed at the same time. We were also declared as idiots by some other peoples when we walked in shorts and T-shirts.

The view from the top was better than expected. Last time we were here the fog laid thick and we could not see anything. The climb down started and we decided to take another way. We walked in the hillside, climbing over large rocks, towards the lake. Leirvatnet was rounded counter clockwise.

A day trip of 7.5 hours made us satisfied. After some good food at the tent we went to Leirvassbu and played some cards.
