1998-07-25 - Øvre Høgvagltjørnene - Olovsbu
We waked up at 4.50 when we felt the tent fabric in our faces. Wasn't a bit narrow in the tent? It had snowed all night long and now 20 centimeter of wet snow was lying on the tent. We looked at our watches and laughed when we saw 25th of July. Hansson went out with the camera and took some classic Christmas photos.

We decided to have a low profile until the snow falling had stopped because we were not in a hurry. For breakfast we had to melt some snow. In the tent it was cozy so we stayed there until 12.30. Now it was raining and windy. The snow, which was left on the ground, was perfect to have in the stone terrain. It was much easier to walk in.

From Raudalsbandet and forward to Olavsbu there was lot of snow but it was not a problem. The hill up to Raudalsbandet was really steep and thanks to snow we didn't have to watch that bloody stones.

We came to Olavsbu at 15.45 and decided to sleep in door and to dry our stuffs. The cottage was equipped with stove and you could also buy food and just put the money in a case. We relaxed with a card of deck and food. When we were cooking our soup with pasta a couple of Norwegians came inside. They also started to cook and when they took out six reindeer filets, onions and mushrooms we just starred at them. They didn't want to change food with us. Too bad.

No tent can stand 20 centimeters of wet and heavy snow. The rods were bend because of the weight.
