Preikestolen - Kjeragbolten 2000
CommonMap 2  3  4
2000-06-02 - Preikestolen - Lysebotn
In good old style we woke up at 8 am and realized that the rainfall was even more painful and nasty Lützen fog had slided in over the area. There was no hurry so we stayed some hours in the tent waiting for the sun. The sun didn't shown up so we decided to take a chance nevertheless. This time it was calm on the cliff but the fog was thick. Anyway, it was worth visiting it one more time. Due to the fog we had no problem with the height. You got no feeling for dizziness at all. After some pictures we walked straight back to Preikestolshytta and changed our wet clothes.

The ferry from Forsand left at 5.30 pm and we admired the view from the lake Lysefjorden. The trip to Lysebotn took about 3 hours and we passed Flöyrli, a powerstation with a very long stair up the mountain and of course Kjerag. This cliff is very famous. Base jumpers from all over the world are using it. The fiord is beautiful with it's steep hills on both sides.

We camp in Lysebotn, neighbours with hundreds of sheeps with bells. Here we got a soft lawn, which is far away from the hard rock face yesterday. In the evening we had barbeque. Sausages and potatoes and some spicy chili. We felt asleep to the sound of sheep bells.
