Gjendebu - Leirvassbu

Route info

Description

You follow Storådalen. In the beginning it's rather green. Flat and nice to Hellerforsen where you will pass a little crest. You walk along Hellertjönnen and soon the lake Langvatnet turn up. Follow the lake some kilometers and at the end it's time to turn left if you like to go to Olavsbu.

The two lakes, Högvagltjönnen, will be passed and the terrain becames more stony and hillier towards Högvaglen. This is also the last hill before you can see Leirvassbu. After a short walk downhill and some gravel road you'll reach the hut.

Hiking time

6 hours

Worth to know

You'll find tent places a bit outside Gjendebu in the valley. In Leirvassbu it's more difficult but if you walk a bit further along Leirvatnet and stop near the small lakes you probably find good tent places.
