Narvik - Kebnekaise 1997

1997-07-22 - Kiruna - Narvik (train) - Stubblidalen
At 16 PM we began the hike after a reel meal in Narvik. Today it was warm like a desert and we had to drink a lot (water). We reach Beisfjord at 18 PM. The asphalt road ends and the gravel road begins.

We were not so lucky when we forgotten to turn left in a way crossing. We took right instead. Shit! Was it the wild cows that scarred us? The valley we came into instead of the right (Shamevalley, nice name!) had one of Europe's largest salmon stairs. That was interesting.

We prepared food along the salmon stairs and then back on track again. Now we turned right and found our valley, Stubblidalen where we also put up the tent for the night. It was hard to find a good tent place when there was tough forest terrain with marshes.
