1999-10-16 - Mylla - Sandungen
We woke up extremely early this cold morning. Already at 8 AM the breakfast was served. There was a classic porridge with raisins and milk on the menu. Our tent went down and the ice was removed from the fabric. About two hours after the breakfast we began to walk in the cold but rather nice weather with the ladies in the leading position. After an hour in high speed we longed for a break that we usually take on our hikes. But the girls just walked and walked and walked with no mercy on us!

After a couple of hours we reached Kollern on 688 meters above sea. Here we had a lovely view over the landscape. The first chocolate bar raised our spirits. We can also announce that we had a chocolate lover in the group, no name but it began with an M! Next stop for us was Holoaseter, where we also had a quick lunch with soup and sandwiches. The sun was shining so we had the opportunity to fix a nice suntan. But it didn't last long because our friends were already standing on the path towards Sandungen.

When the time was about 18.00 we reached our destiny for the night. The tents went up very fast and then we tried to make a fire. The firewood was wet so it was difficult to get a fire that lasts. The menu for this evening was Taco buffet in darkness. Not wrong at all! This evening was a bit warmer than yesterday but still it was cold and starlit so we went in to the tent and played cards. Who won? Were they playing with us? After some rest we (Bert and Hansson) became hungry again. We had namely a little surprise for them. Warm apple pie with cold vanilla cream. It tasted just as good as it sounds. This little meal was really a sleeping pill so we had rest once again before it was time for the sleeping bag in our cold tent.

It was cold as....During the night we estimated the temperature to five degrees below zero. Even the waterbag was frozen to ice.

Most of the Nordmarka area are covered with marshes and forest. The paths and the path signs were good.
