1999-10-17 - Sandungen - Songsvann (Oslo)
How incredible that it sounds we were up already at 0730. The weather was warmer but still minus degrees. The sun was hidden behind the clouds. As usual we have an ordinary breakfast in the nature and than away. Even this day the speed was high at the beginning. Norwegians in the front with Marit first in the tracks.

Our first goal was Kikuthytta where we took a short break and admired the view beyond the lake. Obviously this place is rather popular at wintertime when you can ski over the ice. Our guide (Marit) ordered rest and food existing of biscuits, cheese and chocolate. Our sweetie in the group made an own variant, biscuits and chocolate. Or was it chocolate with biscuits? This meal resulted in unsuspected strength and we was quickly on our way again.

After some ours hike we reached Kobberhaugshytta situated on a top with a nice view. A well-known place with Norwegians all around. I bet they were a little bit confused when we picked one spirit stove after another from our backpacks and cooked a delicious meal of pasta and ham-pot. A wonderful smell surrounded the cottage and a lot of Norwegians could be seen turning their heads towards our meal and us. But we Swedes were not quite satisfied. Some cream isn’t wrong. But soon the Norwegians were on their feet again and suddenly the backpacks where on again.

Towards Ullevålseter there were more and more people in the tracks. When we arrived at Ullevålseter several hundreds of people where waiting for us (we thought…). This seamed to be the Sunday amusement for the neighbors of Oslo. Cycling, hiking or jogging to Ullevålseter and back is a must if you are in Oslo a Sunday. We met several elder peoples and we must admit that we are impressed about their condition.

Now we thought that the speed was lowered because Mette took the lead. We don’t know if this was tactic from the ladies or not first using Marit to soften us and then Mette to break us. Because now the speed was even higher! Finally we reached our goal, the car park at Sognsvann. Tired but happy we took the car back to Marits apartment for some warm shower baths.

After that we ate some hot sandwiches. Bananas and cheese were every body’s favorite!?! We looked at some pictures from the summer trips and were about to ask the ladies about a cycle trip sometimes when Marit says “I have bicycled through Norway!”. Finally we must leave Norway and drive back to our lovely native country again.

We just have one final question, how hard will next hike be?
