2000-07-13 - Skålatårnet
The hike up was quite easy with clear marks where to go. At Skålavatnet it become a bit steeper with snow towards the peak. Sometimes the path went over stony places where somebody had built stairs. This made it even easier to reach the top.

After almost three ours we reached the peak and the tower at Skålatårnet. The visibility were quite good and we took the chance that it will become even better. We were therefore in no hurry up there and spent the time eating and take some pictures.

We also took a short look at the tower. The bottom floor was equipped with a kitchen and a large dinner table. Through a little stair your reached the second floor and were meet by a large three floor bed constructed as a slice of cakes. If you were passing the night here you had to count on sharing beds with others. Can be quite nice! The walls were, on some places, over one meter thick and on some places there were small windows with marvelous views over the surroundings.

Because of no success about the weather we decided to go back home. After about two hours we were at the camp and our tent again. While stretching Hansson managed to turn his knee out of joint and we had to change our plans about Lodalskåpa, our next goal. But we will take this peak next time! Be so sure!

After a shower and some food and a good nights sleep we drove towards Sweden after about almost two weeks of hiking.
