As usual the weather was bad. Have we ever had sunshine there? We parked at the stony car park and took a walk in the cottage. We can recommend a visit in the beautiful hall with proverbs written on the walls. One of them was “One who sleeps can’t sin”. Quickly back to the car and on with the equipment. Today’s target was Tverrbottind. The peak consists of several summits, where the highest is 2161 meters above sea level. After some kilometers of easygoing terrain we started the climb upwards. When we have climbed some hundred meters we reached the snow and colder climate. We put our caps and gloves on and continued the hike. The stones where covered with moss and snow so we had to take it carefully. We reached the ridge to Midtre Tverrbottinden after two ours. At the peak sign we stopped and dig out today’s surprise. Hot dogs with bread tastes delicious! The weather was still bad so we took a chance and tried to wait it out. But after one hour of waiting we realized that there was no change in site. So we started the walk down. You can’t always be lucky… At 4 pm we reached our car. This trip was a perfect startup this year. The day ended with cards.
