At 8 am the breakfast was served, Norwegian porridge and a lot of sandwiches. When we were going to stay outside the whole day we were forced to make our own sandwiches to take with us.
Today we had rescuing training in an ice crack. We were grouped together with some Norwegians from Hamar. They were very experienced. We went to the practice area Böverbreen and everyone had to fall into an ice crack. In that moment you had to trust the Norwegians, but it went well. But I thought it took rather long time when I was down there. This day was finished by a little explore hike up to the ice towers and cracks. It was amazing. The weather wasn't the best Norway can deliver it was quite chilly.
In the evening we had a Norwegian three courses dinner with soup, fish and a dessert. Of course we were very hungry because we are used to have such a dinner at 12 AM. After the meal we analyzed the practice of the day. Later a deck of cards took place on the table. And we showed the Norwegians how to play, or? There was no problem to sleep but you always have to get in sleep first to avoid the snores from the other. | | Picture comment | | Picture (thumbnail) | Picture 99-1-1 Preparations before rescuing in ice crack. | | | Picture 99-1-2 Magnus is on the move at the glacier. | | | Picture 99-1-3 An ice screw is used as an anchor to the block that will be used to drag the fallen up from the crack. | | | Picture 99-1-4 Jonas and Anne look at the others in their team while they are securing the rope. | | |
