Today we were much more rested than yesterday. A traditional breakfast with porridge was on the menu. We took the car to our favorite place, Gjendesheim for the next part of our hike. On the way we agreed that it should be fun to come back to Gjendesheim, it was a year ago since last time. The weather also looks good with the sunshine. "Gyllene Tider" live on the car stereo makes the life worth living.
14.30 PM we take the backpack and walk along the Lake Gjende. About three hours took it to reach Memurubu, one of the largest cottages in Jotunheimen. There were no steep hills on the way but rather windy and cold. In Memurubu we did some cooking, pasta and meat souce. Mmmm tastes as good as it sounds.
After the cooking we walked a bit up the valley against Surtningssui and found probably the best tent area ever. Later in the evening we had another dinner and some chat before we felt in sleep. | | Picture comment | | Picture (thumbnail) | Picture 99-7-70 On our way from Gjendesheim towards Memurubu. | | | Picture 99-7-71 Nice view of Gjende. | | | Picture 99-7-72 Memurubu tourist station. | | | Picture 99-7-73 Lot of campers (scouts?) at Memurubu. | | | Picture 99-7-74 Nice path = happy faces. | | | Picture 99-7-75 Still easy terrain. | | | Picture 99-7-76 This is how it goes if you can’t stay on your feet, Bert! | | |
